Is tip sharing good link building?

If I were to contribute a tip on a website like Fresh Daily Tips, and included my name and link below the entry as a signature (since the site allow its) would this be a white hat link or should the content be more lengthy than a tip which usually consists of a paragraph or two.

    A link that you build yourself is never white hat. The links that are achieved from that post, cause others picked it up and shared it is whitehat.

    Not that it matters that much, unless it ends up on some authentic website with a good pagerank.
  • Yes...the world needs more "Tips" articles.
  • Write some bigger comment and the tips should be extremely useful for the readers. In that case, If you added your signature with link would not be a problem.
