Need some help in SEO

Hello guys

I have hired an agency for my website SEO and my keywords is "web design company" for which I want to be in top of listing in Google, Yahoo and Bing. I know this is a very highly competitive keyword and needs very special attention to rank it on top of listing.
But the issue is that sometime my keyword is in 450+ and sometimes it is in 297 rank in Google.com
I don't know why it is happening. The all SEO work is white hat only and keeps the rule in mind of Google Penguin 2.0, Penguin 2.1 and hummingbird.
Do you have any idea what techniques should I use to rank this keyword.

Is this related to your previous thread about similar topic? Have you taken steps to ensure that the data you see is accurate?

Google results are not static. Your ranks may change a lot especially when Google is trying to see if you site is relevant to the search. I've seen my own site go from 50+ to out of top 100, and come back to 20+. I'm not going to declare that it's there to stay.

Is your site 61designstreet.com? If yes, there's a lot to be done only on the on-page SEO and that should be fixed first. The h1 title is "Videos" on every other page. Not only that, but it's hidden from the page... Some pages also have other h1-tagged bits, and front-page h1 is "world with right web agency". There's a linked SEO-related page in the footer, but it's 404. Usability or the lack of it may actually hinder your changes, because confused visitors may bounce back immediately.

To rank for that keyword, I would say you are going to need a lot of high PR backlinks

Your budget probably will never be enough to beat the top 10 in this keyword.

Too much competition for this keyword. It can be done but you will need a lot of time, money, and effort to do this. I suggest you focus also on less competitive keywords which you can easily rank for. You can get 50 of these keywords (less competitive ones) and still get the same traffic as your 'web design company' keyword when you get to rank all those 50.

When I search Google for the keyword web design company, it's mostly local search results. I'm sure it's the same for most people searching.

When I search, I don't see any local companies. I see a PR5, and 2 PR6 sites in the top 3. There's not even any local companies in the ads.

If you're seeing local companies, looks like I am going to start a web design company in my area.

You're right. I'm even searching on different language, but we have no commonly used expression for web design. So if I drop "company" it's local.

  I like the other tips, though. Who wouldn't want instantly buried nofollow links from random social media sites? Or very suspect low-quality stuff that's shunned by Google?

Quality backlinks are important to rank a high competition keyword. I usually check the domain authority of the backlink site if its 30 or more then only i submit my site.

I am new member in warrior forum.I saw your keyword competitor.I think It is not very difficult for rank 1st page on Google.I hope if you will work regularly and right way you will reach top page within 3-4 months.At 1st you follow your competitor onpage and find out their lack and optimize a very high quality content.Then you will start off page seo.

Thanks to you all guys to give me your wonderful suggestions. But I am giving my best to rank only this keyword on Google top of listing. So that I can get more business. Now my website is ranking in 254 in Google.com and soon it would be on top of listing in Google.

try to get high page backlinks with relevent content. dont place the anchor text on targeted keywords. try to write a content with relevent keyword & post on high PR blogs
