Rewrite or Edit an old article on my own site

First off: Thank you everyone for contributing to this great forum. In my 1-year of affiliate marking and blog writing I've learned a lot.

My site being a year old has some articles about a year old that get no clicks from Google anymore. I add new content monthly, but now moving that to weekly as I've read Google likes lots of new content.

Would you recommend I simply edit an old article that is still relevant? Or delete it and rewrite it? Or rewrite and leave the old article? Something along the lines of "rethinking this..... "

Advice from the masters here at Warrior forum?

Thanks

Rewriting articles does not make them rank better,

Have you ensured the article and site is up to date with standard SEO?

    Have you built quality links?

Analysed the competition for your chosen keywords?

Is the new article going to include a lot of new content? If so, I would keep the old article and write a new one. If it is going to just include a new paragraph or a few changes here and there, I would just edit the article so that it's not viewed as duplicate content.

Google crawlers love fresh content and their is nothing better than good SEO optimized articles for your website on regular interval. But it is necessary to have engaging texts rather than spamming SEO contents.

Thank you for the responses. I think I need to give it time as the Host Latte servers caused many issues for me early in the month so Google may have penalized me. I've now switched to Host Gator and their customer service has been amazing so far. I'm also taking a look again at all my pages 1-per-day with the standard wordpress seo plugin to be certain I'm not missing something, and it does seem I did not use any h2 tags at all, so I'm reviewing to see where they can fit and rewriting portions of the articles to be more relevant with latest product features, etc. Also will add a new article every Friday to keep it up to date. I find I enjoy writing much more than anticipated, so this unemployment thing may be changing what I want to look for in my next job since Architecture is still very slow out here in CA.
Thanks again and good luck with your endeavors as well.
