Adwords Direct Linking- Need Help!!

I just set up a campaign and I received no impressions or clicks. After doing a quick diagnostic I learned that there can only be one ad with a given display URL. After reading all over the internet I've yet to come by a solution. I read about how you can alter the destination URL for keywords only but that is against google's TOS.

So my question is how do affiliates do direct linking with adwords?

I know that you can probably create a mini site to redirect the visitor to the main page. But I would prefer if there was an easier way because I want to launch multiple campaigns at once and I would prefer not to create a website for all of them.

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

That depends on your bids. Make higher bids and your ad will be shown.

The problem is, I want to run several campaigns at once (10+) and weed out the nonprofitable ones. I don't want to increase my overall bids for all of these campaigns because I don't want to go too steep into my pocket without first seeing some results. So would there be a different approach I can take to this? or would increasing my bids be my best bet?

Make better ads than what the other affiliate marketers or the merchant are using. CTR is everything in Adwords. So make a better mousetrap and you'll get your fair share of the traffic. Increasing your bids alone won't do it.

Lucid is right. If you want to direct link you'll need to outbid the other advertiser that's direct linking. Look at the top 3 ads for your keyword and scrape their copy. The chances are they will be getting the highest ctr. If you can maintain a high ctr (above 10%) your cpc will start to come down.

When you launch your campaign have all keywords paused and unpause 1 at a time and set position preference to 1-3. This way you won't bring down your overall ctr with poorly performing keywords.

Your best bet is creating ads that get better CTRs. Don't outright copy the other guys' ads.

The easyiest way to direct link I find is to forward a domain name you prurchase from godaddy.com ... Basically you find a product and if its name is www.myproduct.com you go to godaddy and purchase www.myproductz.com or something similiar then in your domain settings you go to forwarding and insert your affiliate URL in to the forwarding adress click 301 permantent and also click masking and then you are direct linking for once off $10.

Also google recognises this as a seperate URL and you do not compete with all the other direct linkers out therewhich give you a much higher quality score and cheaper links.

and for $10 a year its worth it

Sounds good- but I'm also using tracking, so would I have to purchase multiple domains and have them each individually forwarded to a different tracking link? or would there be a way to have my domain forwarded to one of, say four, different urls every time?
