Would You Buy This Expired Domain?

I'm new to buying expired domains and looking for some advice. I'm looking at this domain and wondering if it's a good buy or not. It's only a PR2 with 2400+ backlinks. But your feedback will help me to understand how this game works...

btw - TF on MarketSamurai is 0 But on Majestic SEO TF is 20

No I wouldn't touch it. Looks to me like virtually every link it has comes from a links.php page on other sites so I would guess it was/is using a link exchange script.

    Worthless in my opinion.

Majestic SEO says 2400, Ahrefs says 83. The backlink profile doesn't look stellar. Actually it kind of looks dodgy and spammy, with almost all of the linking sites being the same caliber and in the same IP address.

Is the site ranking for anything meaningful? It's indexed at least, but didn't find anything. Not that I tried very hard.

    Wouldn't touch that.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Go to OpenSiteExplorer.org and type in the domain.

Look where the links are from. Ignore the ones that come from it's own domain for now.

Every one of them is a links.php link, and if you click on them, you can see they're all crappy thin Cancun sites.

Based on the domains themselves, and the similarity of design, I'm guessing this was already part of a PBN for someone selling Cancun travel related stuff.

If you had a generic travel blog and one of your sections was Cancun, I'd see if the domain went to closeout auction and might pay $5-10 for it (plus reg fee) and play with it, knowing that I'd throw it away if it caused any problems.

But I don't see it's related enough to your Jamaica site to be worth the juice.

Looks like the domain seller probably owns all those domains with the links.php backlinks.
