Blog Comments

This is a noob question but I have never done this before.

When posting blog comments do you stick your desired landing page url into the "Website:" field that most sites specifically have.

Or do you stick it in the text box with your comment? Or do you do both?

Also since you want to use <a href's to vary your anchors, can you use ahrefs in the "website:" field, or is it only acceptable in the text box?

  • I like to put only my website. And then for a specific landing page or link or etc, I put that in the comment box along with a description of what it is.
  • Depends on the blogs. If you are allowed to post links - then post your link in the comment itself, if not - use the "your website link" box.
  • If it is good high pr blog I usually post contextual link with <a hrefs.
    For others I use both.
  • I put my Homepage in the Website field and the deeplink into the comment box.

I think it's more importand to make a good post, than where you put your link.

When you just drop a poor comment ther pageadmin will delete it.

    • Yes. It's the best way according to me too!
  • Most reputable blogs will moderate your comments anyway and links posted in the text box will be removed before comment publication or your comment will simply be discarded because you included a link in the textbox.

  • It's a good idea to include a link to a specific page in the website url field, but using your real name or your realname@yoursitename is a more professional technique than keyword spamming that url box.
  • if you are commenting on blog for seo reason then you need to put your link but it depends on blog that it allows to post link or not.
  • I don't have much success with getting other blogs to accept my comments when I plug my link into the actual comment itself. I usually try to do both though.
  • Put it in a website field, chances are bigger to get the comment accepted.
  • As a few others have said it really just depends on the blog.

I tend to just leave it in the URL / Name field though. Most people are aware that clicking your name will lead to your site.

But if you can link at the bottom of your post, go for it.
