Are there wordpress themes that do silo structure properly? If someone could give me some ideas of both free and paid for themes.

Thanks.

  • Hello

I am currently building a niche site using the silo structure. I am using one of the default themes that comes with Word Press and this video guide.

Build Silo Structure WordPress Blog - How To Create A Website

It is working out pretty nicely. There is also a warrior here that has a theme that is a pretty simple theme but looks effective.

  • Try WP Ultimate Silo Builder. It should do pretty much what you need. Great support videos as well.

  • I have been using WP Ultimate Silo Builder but finding it not to be compatible with very many themes.

Any other resources anyone can recommend?

    • Apart from getting it to work with your themes, how impressed with the WP Ultimate Silo Builder are you?

Also, is it any good without having to subscribe to domain web studio - or is it just a ploy to get affiliate commissions out of people? - i.e. you have to pay to have something worthwhile

  • Hey guys - Hope to get some clarity on this issue, but is there something on missing about silos? The idea is pretty straight forward I thought; have a homepage and separate flow through pages constrained to a single subject, correct? All these new posts have me thinking there is something that I'm missing.

    • Yes, the idea is straightforward - the problems arise when it comes to making the silos watertight

CMS systems like WordPress, as well as site builder programs like Dreamweaver, link all the site pages together - whereas we want a very specific linking structure

This then means you have to use custom menus, logically coded navigation widgets, a custom framework, xsite pro, or a wordpress silo plugin - otherwise you've pretty much wasted your time structuring your site pages in a silo fashion - because the silos suffer from theme bleed due to cross-linking of siloed pages
