I don't know what's wrong is going with my website. My target region is USA but when I find the ranking of my keywords on simply by going Google.com and search for a particular keyword then it shows me the following result:
1. Web design company- 476th Rank
2. Best web design company- 85th rank
3. Award winning web design company- 9th rank

But when I find the searches on some proxy websites then it show me the following ranks:
1. Web design company- 98th rank
2. Best web design company- 45th rank
3. Award winning web design company- 11th rank
I don't know why it showing me different ranking on Google. I am also not confident that what actually ranking is in the Google in USA for my keywords.
Can somebody help me or can somebody verify these ranking of my keywords.

Many thanks,

well, if i talk about using proxies then they are region specific like if you are using the proxies of Uk then google will automatically shows the results that are more specific to the UK ..... i.e. the results are from the uk only but when you don't use proxies then the results are specific to your region only !! So, if you are using the proxy of USA and getting result........ and without using proxy you are getting .... ***** !!!

Now i guess you are clear what i am trying to say ...

well, in that case i don't think you should go forward with proxies in fact get settled on the search result when you are not using the proxies i.e. by the google.com !! As you can't guess how proxies are getting results:p:p:p i.e. proxy may be getting results from another proxies !!

You're doing searches with different parameters so of course the results are going to be different. In this case it's Google that is detecting your location.

I'd use a SERP tracking software that allows you to choose which Google version and language you want to look at. Results are not consistent between different pieces of software or always 100% right, but it's much better than getting wrong results by doing a wrong search.

Advanced Web Ranking (the desktop tool) would be my favourite because of the graphs it can do, but it's been a bit unstable on Mac and doesn't seem to be as accurate as the other tools (although the differences are minor). Link Assistant's Rank Tracker is a nice and fast desktop tool. Rankcheckerace.com is simply awesome for a free web service.

There's "what's your favourite SERP tracker" thread every week on WF. Just use the search on SEO forum.

Sounds like personalized results vs unpersonalized results.

This can happen if you are logged into a Google account when doing searches and sometimes based on the IP address you are looking up from.

Try using incognito and fully logged out of a Google account to see results.

I quite like Rankerizer, I use it a lot. Firstly it's free which is always a bonus. Also, it allows you to enter as many keywords/phrases as you want and use which country of Google Yahoo Bing you want so that you can see what's going on. It will give you your position and also rank for that particular page. From what I can tell, it's very accurate. One of the reasons I like it is because when you actually research what keywords people are using, you will often find out that people are using phrases containing several words, rather than two or three words, that is what is happening in my case anyway.

This. The very least OP could do is to ask her SEO person/contractor for explanation. Or perhaps our old pal Google Search.

My website is in web desinging services and my maim keyword is "web design company". I know this is very competitive keyword but I already spent 3 months to rank it on Google top of listing. When I started work then it was on 645 rank in Google and now it in 279 rank. I don't know how much time it would take to rank on Google.
Can you guys suggest me any white hat SEO techniques that can rank my keywords ASAP.
My company all business depends only on this single keyword.
I have also used this keyword in title and description part of the webpage. My website is 61designstreet.com and the PR of the website is also 3.

Looking forwards for your valuable reply.

Why don't you target the local area in which you are based? This would be far more achievable that trying to rank nationally. Also any ASAP SEO method would probably end up in disaster for the long term especially if you are trying to target a keyword such as the one you mentioned.

Thanks for your reply but my targeted region is US only and I have also good ranking in my local area.

You asked this same basic question a week ago.

You're trying to rank a super competitive keyword on a much larger scale than what is truly necessary. If you are relying only on Google results on a national/world level for such a keyword, then you'll need more than just WarriorForum strategies. You'll need a real serious budget with a team.

Basic backlink packages from blog networks aren't going to cut it.

Start smaller. Get some local SEO done for your area and rank locally. That should bring in business and cash while you hammer out a bigger plan. Start focusing on long tail keywords that can bring in business that way. Find special or unique web design terms that people are searching for and get pages out there with that content and start building links to it.

Unless your company is banking a few million a year, it's unlikely you're going to be able to get the services you need to rank for such a generic high volume keyword.

Why don't you start by fixing the most glaring mistakes in the on-page SEO (as pointed out in the previous thread)? That's super easy and something you can probably do yourself. After that wait a bit and see if something happens.

I'd forget about "web design company" and try to target something more specific.

You know, answer doesn't change if you just repeat the same question. It's a bit hard to take that "ASAP" seriously if you're not willing to do the most basic steps to get anywhere. Do you expect us to come up with some sort of miracle cure?

You all guys are kids in SEO. I can't believe why you haven't get my point why this is happening to my website. Some told me to use this extentions like "unvealscam" said to use moz toolbar and "IndeXer" said to use online keyword ranking tool i.e. whatpageofsearchamion com etc.
Do you guys think are you expert in SEO then according to me you all are just the beginners. If you think you have solved my problem then guys I just want to know how un-experienced SEO's are here in this forum.
Now I will tell you why it happened to website. If you guys knows about Google webmaster tool then their is one option that is website settings.
When you will go to that option then you will see another option that would be your target country. Ok
If you select the US in your target city then the ranking would be better in US then the other country and your ranking in other country would decreased day by day and will improve day by day in your target country.
That is the actual answer that I have asked you. If you don't believe me then do a experience with your website then you will come to know.

    Thanks to all your replies.

So what part of "nothing is happening to your website, the problem is the way you use Google search" did you not understand? Your explanation doesn't fit the original post at all. Targeting the site to a country isn't the same thing as someone getting different search results.

You posted a basic question, and didn't show anything that would lead us to believe the explanation wasn't the most obvious one. You're in no place to say the stuff that I quoted above.

(EDIT: oh joy, now two threads were combined a bit randomly. Sorry if my posts seem weird here.)

That's what happens when an OP starts multiple threads on the same subject. The threads get merged.

Searching a keyword like web design company is a local keyword, so for example Chicago searches will show different/drastic search positions than searching the same local keyword in Dallas (example).

Where's your proxy GEO location from, Anchorage Alaska? It matters.
