Just adding context (No SEO) = good adsense income?

Those who have been writing unique articles for your blog without doing any SEO. Did you manage to earn good income from adsense?

If yes, how many articles and words per article you need to write to reach an income of $2000 per month?

If not, what about only on site SEO and silo?
Thanks!

Ughhh...I meant content not context in the title heh...

Around 2009 I wrote about 8 articles with 700 words per article. I did on site and off site SEO on those articles. My best month was $300 per month from adsense. It was so rewarding after spending a lot of time doing it. Sadly, Penguin and Panda killed them. I gave up with a broken heart. Now that I'm back but I'm afraid the big G is gonna stab my heart again heh...I've seen some posts mentioned about just writing and do no SEO at all. It made sense but I was wondering if I need to write 10,000 articles to see $2,000 monthly income from adsense. Or can it be done with 100 articles? Can anyone shed a light?

If your site is configured properly, you don't need to "SEO" the articles individually. Actually "without doing any SEO" sounds like a badly built site.

If you want an answer to your income question, here you go.

Would wordpress be enough for on site SEO by default? Just set permalink to /%postname%/. I've seen somewhere that over-optimizing onsite SEO can hurt ranking as well. Just wanted to see if anyone have done very little SEO with success.

Theme is the part that does most of on-page SEO. You can improve it by installing a SEO plugin, but well-made theme is enough.

If "by default" you mean "with the stock theme" - sorry, don't know because I try to avoid those. However, I don't have any reason to believe that twentywhatever series would be terrible.

Changing permalinks to /%postname%/ is considered SEO.

How come I know no pizza shop that says

"I'll just make great pizzas and skip signs, advertising or letting anyone I know that I am in business"

Lol... in my area, the local law doesn't allow a business to do signs except for certain areas on the storefront. There are laws and rules for advertising. So, I assumed that is true for SEOing. Such as overstuffing keywords, junk content, spammy backlinks, etc. Just wanted to know if minimum SEO can be done without worrying too much on future G updates. Is just doing title, h1 tag, anchor text, 1% keyword density and image alt tag consider over-optimizing or is that a bare minimum?

I don't much care for keyword densities. It's likely that you know an over-optimized piece when you see one, and I don't think you're going be in danger if you're even a bit anxious about it. I'd just try to avoid publishing anything that feels like it was written for SEO only.

Obviously you want to mention the central topic of the article in the title, but that's the way it goes wether you're writing for a print magazine or for your blog. Usually the keywords repeats in the text a few times wether or not you try to force it.

Keeping SEO in mind when writing/proofreading is a good idea, but don't let it get in the way of your writing.

Thats the same in almost any area. Because there are rules does not mean they skip all advertising or signs on their storefront and just concentrate on their content/product

Sorry it just make s no business sense to start a business and say skip advertising it. nada. Its a sure as death that you will get no traffic from anything but Google without promoting it and it makes zero sense not to advertise the site to Google which is called link building.

white hat link building if you want to go that route is STILL SEO.

I would be asking myself why google dropped my articles if I didn`t do any SEO, And after that I just might think to myself sod messing around I`ll do SEO and get quicker ranking and money !

If your making the sites `just` for adsense earning no other reason your idea is a bad one you already know google can drop sites and fall out with practices that are correct today but carry a penalty tomorrow, I`m telling you you can make massive money with adsense with 1 page/post at number one in google I did over your $2000 mark last month nearly double with just 1 page at number 1 and I was doing it 5 months ago with a site that got hit by a penalty, And before that I was doing it 10 months ago with a different site untill that got hit by a google penalty and before that ..

Yep I now expect to get hit and and even have a second site ready and waiting same niche, same keywords,

Its just might be the worst SEO / IM strategy on WF but I make a full time living with it and if you need some encouragement I`ll show you my adsense earning by way of PM if you like

Anyway there are so so many guys on here who are much much smarter than me so I`ll stop making a fool of myself here lol

That's interesting! I'll try one page and do the usual seo stuff and see how it turns out. If it got killed by G update, then move on to a new site. If you get hit, do you just let domain expire and do you copy exact same web content for next site? Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi Sideburn, I didnt just build a site with 1 page they have around 10 to 15 pages and posts I like to make my sites a complete package so I choose my niche and its always healthcare by the way LOVE that niche and say the topic was `occupational therapy` a niche I actually tried but it proved too tough but say it was I then rack my brains thinking of every question someone looking to start a career in that area would want answering and create a site around it most of the questions are found in a keyword search in google planner sure but I try to think of others and also scan the web for answers to the keywords and link to the pages of other great sites so that my page is really really helpful. I never used to do this but now I really enjoy creating helpful sites,

Ok maybe I was wrong saying I made all the money from just 1 page that may not be 100% true I have afew pages at top 5 positions so theres some traffic there and possibly some longtail stuff I`m dont even know about but the lions share was with just 1 page.

The other thing and this may get ripped to peices by SEO guys on here is... I always build sites on expired high PR domains so I buy a good PR3 domain and build a site on it I`m sure you know that story.. So when my site get hit by the latest google update I use that site on `occupational therapy` as a backlink site to my new site on `occupational therapy` now I question this myself sometimes as the old domain has just been hit by google but I have PR3/4 pages with just 1 OBL pointing to my new site .. for course there on different hosts.

And I`m not sure where that guys gone who says you cannot make money with adsense WOW how wrong can a guy be the adwords click costs are shockingly expensive right by and in healthcare I get $10 clicks all day and as high as $25 !! Google is doing really really cool things with the adsense blocks trying new styles all the time and I promise you I did $4000 last month !

I can tell you it worked for me. Last summer I created a site solely with that testing purpose in mind. It's not the best way to try to make an income, but it does bring in a lot of long-tail traffic.

All I did was target keywords with little competition that were getting 100-200 searches a month. 30 posts, no backlinks created, perfect on-site SEO, and still getting about 50 visitors a day. I stopped writing posts for the site though since, like I said earlier, it's time consuming and not the best way.

Nope.. I have a site with over 200 unique 700+ word articles, 7 year old domain, that ranks at the top for some niche one-word terms (30,000 searches), and I'm not making shit. ($10 a month) That was a lesson right there.

Thanks for confirming that it is time consuming with little return.

@Mike Anthony, sounds like white hat link building solves this...what is white hat link building?

It's likely that you're not going to make thousands from one site unless you're insanely successful. But that should be obvious. Just pull some numbers out of your hat and make some estimations. What if you get x visitors, y% of those click ads, and you get $z per click? You should know the traffic you've gotten in the best days, and you can find typical CTRs and estimates of average Adsense payouts form the internet.

Some marketers target multiple niches. It allows you to choose the best working niche, and put your effort to that.

Nobody earns $2,000 per month these days with Adsense... I know people that now earn about $600-$700 per month while they were making about a few thousands per month during the past few years... The earnings are being dramatically decrease and also they don't approve many webmasters (I'm talking about Adsense!)

We got it that you hate adsense, but stop trying to discourage people from using adsense. There are people that make like $2,000 a day and more with adsense. This lady hxxp://blog.2createawebsite.com/2011/11/17/google-adsense-earnings/ makes good money with adsense. You can email her to ask her if she still makes over $300 a day with adsense.
