I recognize now that the proper niche is hugely important and this niche is not a money maker so don't bother telling me I already know. I'm just looking for constructive pointers.

I started this site because I had a product review site in 2012 which was a straight retread of Amazon product information. 300 people a day earned quite a bit of money in ad sense and affiliates. It only lasted a few months before my Google Honeymoon ended and I quickly realized sites without real useful/unique information will never succeed.

So I decided I'm not building another site unless I'm interested in the topic. So in August I wrote NoobMovies.com. I built it from scratch mainly as a programming credential because all my sites in the past I've removed from the net and I wanted something I could and will expand over the years.

This website currently gets hundreds of visitors a day almost entirely to blogs I write (not the movie pages and not the movie star pages). Those do get hits but not many as the content is already found all over the web by sites with much greater authority.

Can you guys give pointers on the ad placement etc... Earnings in ad sense and my affiliates are abysmal even though the site has way more traffic than I've ever had on any of my previous projects. Bounce rate is decent and about 20% of my traffic returns in a week. I've tried to optimize the site for mobile, but it's still a work in progress. I currently hate the navigation I plan to change it back to what it was a few weeks ago which was a lot better than it is now.
