I want to buy a domain from one person, that domain is PR4, but after i've checked on opensiteexplorer, i saw one strange thing about it.

When i check with just http:// (no - www) it shows no DA/PA no backlinks ( it says they don't have data for it).

When i check with http://www. it says that this domains redirects to another domain which has high DA/PA and a lot of backlinks. I can choose if i want to see data for this current domain (that i want to buy) and when i click on that, i can see small DA/PA and only a few backlinks.

What does it mean? Why when i type with www in search it says that it's redirecting to another domain? Also when i've checked that another domain, i can see it has only PR0.

Can someone explain to me what is this about?

If the person is selling the domain based on the PR, it means they are trying to rip you off. Redirects are one way you fool the Google Toolbar into displaying a fake PR for the page.

    I would avoid it.

Check info:domain.com on Google & check wayback. I guess at least the home page is indexed, even If it's parked. Wayback is a long shot, then again it might show how the sites been used/redirected in the past (spam or fake PR).

That by itself is not remarkable. happens all the time that the two are counted different (with and without the www). However since its showing very little under www and the redirect means like Mike F stated - you should stay away.
