Ranking High PR Pages - Is This Dumb?

Hi All,

Part of my strategy for generating traffic is to create content on high PR sites and let traffic trickle may way. We'll have content for Amazon, LinkedIn, etc. The idea is then to build links to these pages.

I was wondering if these pages would be penalized if I "bought" back links packages - the type you all are familiar with. Keep in mind that I would not be engaging in building links to my main site. I'd rather get my links "organically."

However, I saw the creation of content on high PR sites, and then aggressively back linking them can be a way to have my content rank for these terms (if not my site).

Am I fool for drawing this conclusion? Thank you!

They're called parasite sites and it's nothing new. You're basically taking advantage of the site's authority and trust. Thus, you will be able to have a higher link velocity and get away with a large amount of spammy backlinks.

The only downside to this, in your case, is if the parasite sites outrank your main site for the same keywords. Obviously, a significant percentage of the traffic will not click through and go to the main site. So you may want to target different keywords.

Thanks for this. I guess I will start with my amazon e-book!
