Hey guys, so what does it technically mean if you do the info:"site.com" search in Google? This is in respect to an expiring domain. Does it mean the site has a penalty? De-indexed? If de-indexed or penalty, how can I find out?

Or does it simply mean it fell out of the index because of a lack of content?

I know that the "info:siitecom" search is done to find a faked PR, but this PR shows "N/A," so I'm not sure if the intention is to fake the PR.

Btw, the backlinks are pretty solid.

It has been deindexed and there is the possibility that it has been penalized. The PR will always be NA/unranked for sites that are not indexed.

Also, if it has a bunch of spammy links, then of course it is more likely to be penalized.

Thanks for your insight. Now, what if it doesn't have any spammy links?

Then it is less likely to be deindexed due to a penalty, but there is still no guarantee.

You might want to log into webmaster tools and look for messages from Google. If it has been manually penalized, you'd have a notification there.

If there's a notification, go to siteexplorer.org and check the bad links after filtering out your insite links that are not considered by Google while "penalizing" a site.

    Hope that helps.

If its an old domain then it could have got deindexd for non activity or some other reason. If there was no blackhat activity then you can build a few backlinks to get it reindexed.

If its a new domain then it may take a couple of days to get indexed. If its a new domain that was deindexed while it was with the previous owner, even then google should index it. Worst case you can put a request for reconsideration stating that you purchased a new domain.

if the site is new so it's not indexed yet if not I think it's penalized

  • your site might be black listed by google. Find out Why, remove the bads and appeal to google.

It was an expiring domain I purchased. Had a good backlink profile so decided to take the risk. However, it looks like it's de-indexed for some reason. I'm thinking the site has been down for a while and that's maybe why.

I'm thinking I might throw a template on there and some content and see what happens.

    Any ideas?
