blog advertising vs ppc?

Do you think it's a good idea to drop $200 for a small banner on a very prominent blog within my niche for 2 weeks or spend the whole amount on google ads instead? I tried google ads before but didn't get any results.

  • Should I get a german or japanese car?

That's the same question you're essentially asking. Without more details we can't possibly tell you.

How many impressions would you get from the blog in those 2 weeks, what's your CTR from this banner on other sites you've tested it on? How many clicks would you be able to get on PPC for the $200 in what time frame?

There are TOO many variables, we can't just tell you based on the (lack of) information you've provided.

    • I'd have to agree, and even with more information then it will still be hard to answer without testing.

In this business that we are in, the only true way to find the most preferable method for any kind of marketing and product is to test, analyse, retest, re-analyse making small tweaks until you find something that works for your product and niche!

  • I would go with pay per click.

I just tested a text link on a very popular website in the make money online niche. This website is #4 for the keyword make money online.

I thought that I would get a lot of visitors per day which I was wrong. I only got like 5-10 for the whole month.

Pay per click ads perform a whole lot better them most of the ads that you place online.
  • There are plenty of people who makes tons of money with either CPC or Media Buys. It's all about testing and optimizing.
  • Hi,

You have to GET YOUR FEET WET FIRST!

    TEST, TEST & test again.

You'll never know by using pure speculation and sheer pondering tactics.

    Hey here's an idea.

Conduct a case study comparing the 2 against one another.

Then create a product around that as a WSO.

Make profits from it and build a buyers list that you can promote
further helpful to again and again.

    Hope this helps.

    • How is it guaranteed if no one clicks on the ad? It's comments like these that are dangerous.
  • Given this:

I would say your next move would be the blog advertising. Just make sure that the blog is a good home for your product.
