Findnig Keywords with Low Competition

Is it wise to use only "low'' competition keywords in google keyword planner or it doesnt matter?

How else can i find out if a keyword is low competition?

    Keywords marked as "low competition" in planner are keywords where low competition is for advertisers, and not for us, publishers. So if some word in planner has low competition, for that word the low competition would be for ads showing.

    Use Google Search to work out the competition, inurl, intitle, indesc, etc

      Absolutely do not listen to this. It does no good whatsoever.

      All you need to do is analyze the top 3 sites for the keyword. That is your competition. The rest do not matter.

      Nothing matters aside from the page 1 competition. And, to a greater extent, the top 3.

    Well the low competition in Google Adwords is irrelevant as far as SEO i concerned because the competition mentioned in Google Adwords is between advertisers and not between different websites for ranking in Google.

    I think Google Keyword planner is providing the statistics of advertiser's competition for the keyword. That competition measure does not matter much in SEO prospective.

    Google keyword planner shows low competition for the advertisers as mrgood mentioned. That much low, that much cheap you will advertise. The higher the competition is the more you will pay.

    If you want to find low competition keywords you have to do some more searches. Find long tail keywords. Then keep the monthly searches not to be more than 50-100 000. The minimum can be very low, but again, it's not a very big problem. It would be good if you find keywords around 5-10 000 monthly searches. Then when you find a keyword search on google with quotes "example keyword long tail". There look at the results. If the results are more than 100 000 this means you have a lot of competitors where it will be very hard for you to compete. It would be good if they are around 30 000 thousand results. And if at keyword planner the competition is low it would be perfect for you to bid on these keywords.

    You can use tools like ahrefs to analyze the backlink profiles of your competitors. Also you can install a plugin called SEO Quake to check each website PR, age, and social signals
