Google AdWords Display Planner, keywords vs placements

Hi,

I'm a bit confused about the difference between the 'keywords' tab and the 'placements' tab in the 'Individual Targeting Ideas' tab of the AdWords Display Planner tool.

So, let's say I want my ad to appear only on pages that contain specific keywords, like, for example, pages containing the keywords 'tension headaches' and 'migraine tension headaches', the 'keywords' tab shows me a bunch of keywords, which is fine, because I would only want my ad to appear on those pages, and only those pages that contain the keywords 'tension headaches' and 'migraine tension headaches'.

The 'placements' tab, however, shows a bunch of quite generic health sites and health site placements for this keyword where it seems my ad could appear on all sorts of generic health pages. (For example, I see there wisegeek.org and "wisegeek.org (Article Pages, Multiple Locations)," which is not helpful to me.)

I'm a bit confused about that. If I select the keywords under the 'keywords' tab, would I appear only on pages that actually include those keywords on the page somewhere or could I land up on all sorts of generic, loosely relevant websites?

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks.
