Domain, both pointing to the same directory... will it effect SEO?

Hello everyone,

I have a question which I have been debating for the last few weeks. I thought I had my .com.au domain redirecting to the .com of my website. However I actually just had it pointing to the folder of the site, i.e the forum and wordpress.

Now whenever I type mysite.com or mysite.com.au it goes to the same place(obviously), but my question is some of my .com.au are getting indexed(very few) will Google think that I have duplicate content? Am I better off making a proper redirect or just leaving it?

  • Your main domain name will get all the traffic and indexing. Any parked or addons domains will not get the same indexing unless you have an addon pointing to a differant directory.

    You can point and mask as many domains as you like to your site. You can use different keywords on each mask.
