How long before new affiliate site begins ranking?

Hi everyone. I've been a lurker for awhile on this forum and posting for the first time.

My question is how long should I expect to wait before I see initial movement in Google SERPs?

I published my initial content 2 weeks ago, all of the content is indexed, and my two main KWs (low competition; LSV 3,600 and 4,800) have not shown up anywhere in Google (500+). I've optimized on-page and slowly begun to build links as well.

Is this normal for a new site? What's the general timeline as to when I should see SOME positive movement in the SERPs? I am just uncertain as a newbie, and I just need some reassurance or guidance. Your advice/input is much appreciated!

Like many things, the answer is it varies.

It could be weeks or months.

Just keep creating quality content and doing what you can to gain organic backlinks.

Use social-media if you aren't already.

Incorporate lots of relevant longtails into your content.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

    What links?
Some links doesn't impact your rankings at all while some others can make a huge difference.

Wait, keep acquiring legit links and soon you will be on the top.

Paul, no one told me of any magic formula. I was just looking for insight based on other people's personal experiences.

The answer seems to be "never" for most affiliate marketers who ask similar question. You've done some research and seem to know your stuff so there's a better change of success here. Try to see that your content is not too thin, and that it's not just scraped from the site you're trying to push.

It's impossible to give any time estimations even if we knew the site. However, two weeks is very short period of time in this business. Just keep going forward.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Firstly are you doing any link building at all? You won't see any movement unless you start building links links to your site.

Spend the next week (at least) figuring out some backlink strategies and go from there. Also start thinking about setting up your own Private Blog Network so you'll always have a source of links for any new site you create in the future.
