The 1st Page for my Brand has a lot of negative press.

My site has good and bad press, but the bad press has overwhelmed the front page of google results when you search for my brand name.

For example, on a forum there are several posts about my site mostly positive, however the 1 bad post has a number 2 listing on google.

What would people suggest I do ?

    First thing you should do is calm down and avoid doing anything that can be perceived as negative. For example, a blog post about bad service usually goes pretty much unnoticed. It only completely boils over and goes viral if the entrepreneur / a representative / an astroturfer starts a shouting match in the comments. Escalating a bad situation to that point makes it stick in the SERPs like tar because of all the social media attention and blog backlinks it gets.

    Keep a cool head, act professionally, explain your point of view if you need to, and make threats only via legal professionals. (Usually you've got no legal standing.)

    If you've not gotten that far, I guess social media profiles may push that kind of stuff from the first page. You may have to support those profiles with backlinks.

        I've just linked my properties to each other, from other profile type pages, and from my front page. Seems to work, although I've got no emergencies in my hands.

          Make few web 2.0 properties / small new websites , optimize them for your brand name, it's easy to knock down few reviews.

          Also you can use them to rank for your keywords and get additional traffic via NOFOLLOW links to your main site.

            This is where I would start, too. Also hire a professional with reputation management, or if you know what you're doing, hire a team of virtual assistants to help.
