If your marketing and branding techniques are strong enough then.biz or domain with any other extension will work as good as .com. FYI, several new gTLDs are available in the market such as .Technology, .Photography, .Marketing, etc.… This means, people now have an opportunity to register a domain name with the specific niche. However, the price of these new extensions is slightly higher.

It will work good, just do your part right. I made a site for a friend years ago (.biz domain) it's still number 1 in many search terms and for the main keyword.
