If im averaging 75,000 hits to my website a month, how much backlinking is safe to do a week?

I feel pretty sketchy and non conformist since i know that penguin and panda are designed to recognize deliberate patterns of SEO and not only that but certain places in where they come from.

How do you feel about the idea of running some ad word ad's and then pushing for higher numbers of SEO to a series of articles?

You can built as many link as you can
Dont take any number and don't listen to people who are saying this because they want you to purchase link from you !
Consider if a site goes viral (consider its about an interesting tpic that people really want to share ) in just a week then it will have thousands of backlinks a day. then what do you think, will its PR will decrease ?.......Absolutely NO !, so go on and keep it up best of luck

These two have very little to do with each other.

If the backlinks are good you don't need to limit your activity. If you're link spamming this might be the wrong forum to ask. The best information on that tends to be behind registration somewhere. Of course, it's more likely for a popular site to get "natural" backlinks which may balance your link building efforts whatever they may be.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.

Web visitor traffic and links have nothing to do with eachother.

First question is how many links does your site have currently and how is it ranking?

as in how many articles i have on the site? Since they all technically link to each other or how many backlinks do i have from outside of the website?

and i havent ranked anything yet. Im just trying to get my strategy down. So i know what to do when launch day comes.

Hit and backlinks are two different things. If your website is new then number of backlinks does matter because Google know that you are doing some extra effort to get backlinks but if your website is old then it is not more important factor for you. However maximum 5-10 backlinks will be good. Keep in mind, there is no rule for number of backlinks.

5 - 10 backlinks to one article or spread out throughout various articles?

Even the comment you're replying to says that there's no rule on number of backlinks. If 10 for the whole site sounds reasonable to you, by all means try that.

Alright so what about the volume and quantity, what if i build all of those links in one day and do that consistently once a week.

I ask because i know that penguin and panda are designed to recognize patterns of deliberate SEO. Is there a safety measure. i should learn about?

Absolutely. Try to read find information about link tactics that work today. It's more about the quality of backlinks and profile as a whole.

Unfortunately I have no easy answers, and all of the one-liners about social whatever and blog commenting are mostly BS. Of course you could do some of that too, but those will get you nowhere from SEO perspective. And spamming (getting a huge volume of artificial backlinks) isn't for the money site or for the faint of hearth.

If they are good links, you should get as many as you possibly can as often as you possibly can.

Penguin is not looking for link patterns in terms of number links in any given day, week, month, etc. It is looking for low quality links, period.

Yes but updates are moving towards recognizing patterns regardless of quality. Hence, why that guest blogging network was hit. For instance their is a difference from getting a link from life.com or the historychannel.com but following something like this

      http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...y-keyword.html

is a definite plan for disaster, this is exactly what the algorithm is being updated to identify.

        That thread is from 2012.

SEO moves 3xtimes faster then Dog years, so that threads as good as 21 years out of date now. Be like me trying to get a cassette tape to work in my ipod.

Even back then that crap never worked in anything remotely competitive. The title should have read.

Yes i realize that, the point im trying to make is that the algorithm is being developed to identify deliberate patterns of SEO practices. My question is whether or not their is a safety (volume plus quantity within a week) measurement that anyone has found.

Well, it's obvious that your site is getting decent amount of traffic in a monthly basis. This is equivalent to 2465 visitors in a daily basis. It's important that once your site finally gets to a position where it's getting decent amount of traffic, you don't do anything that can disrupt the level of success being experienced.

I'd suggest you to continue to build your back-links in a natural way.

What does a natural way look like. When i you say im thinking doing social and then creating, on a weekly basis 7 - 14 backlinks spread out on different pages on the site. what exactly do you mean?

Good grief, how many times does it need to be said?

Build however many links you want, whenever you want. Either the links are quality or their junk, that part is up to you.

I get it now, so long as i have traffic i can build as many backlinks as i want.

My only question now is, what the safest places are to get these backlinks?

It doesn't matter If your site has traffic when building backlinks.

I imagine safe links has a different definition for each person building links. For me, safe links are links on pages from domains that are relevant to my own domain, not only links on relevant pages. There's a difference.

I build long term sites, I aim to rank this time next year with the links I build today. Some folks have churn & burn sites so safe links isn't in their vocabulary, they don't care If the domain is ranking a year from now. That's one of the reasons you have to pay attention to link quality If your buying links, everyone isn't trying to accomplish the same things (long term vs short term) but most link sellers won't point this type of thing out, or If they do they'll still sometimes BS with a bogus sales pitch. You have to make your own decision (testing) on what you think a quality link is & know how to weed out the junk links/sellers.

        [edit]
There's threads on the SEO forum explaining quality links. Owning the backlink domain is a start.

I figured actually owning the backilinks is the most intelligent thing to do.

Pretty good... 75k are perfect and I hope at least 75-80% of them are unique which will be ideal! Well... I would go with a few, then continue increasing the number of backlinks per day!
