How do I Monetize my forum further?

Hi guys,

Just registered to get your input.

I have been running an online forum on politics for past 5 years. I enjoy politics, so it was completely based on passion.

The forum has around 100k registered member. 1.5 million unique visitors per month and around 10 million impressions each month.

65% of the traffic comes from USA, CANADA and the UK.

It was never about money for me but it has grown exponentially in past 2 years. I just use adsense to monetize and I do earn very good revenue but now we are thinking of creating our own unique media content. For this I need boost in my revenue.

Any tips or suggestions?

    I would setup a campaign selling Democrat vs Republican tshirts & make sure to show the number of sales for each tshirt to create competition from buyers.

    Make the sales page look like it's a campaign for voting. One vote will cost traffic $15 (tshirt cost), vote as often as you would like, lol. Who's better democrats or republicans?

    Test it, see If it works... doesn't cost anything besides some time If you know how to code HTML & copy paste/edit public domain vector art. Find an online tshirt business that prints shirts on demand.

  • I would offer ads for people... You can place there their Facebook profile for example, so they make new friends... Or whatever they promote... Think what they want to see there!!
  • Sell premium memberships (with private subforum access) to members; sell ad space to external advertisers (not Adsense related); offer a 'donate' option with 'buy me a coffee' plug in. Host a fund raiser for the site. These could be a few ways to raise money for your forum.
