Hey,

For those that are consultants or offer their SEO service what do you include in your package as far as link building goes?

So far I have on-page recommendations, and competitors analysis down. But I'm trying to figure out what link building offers I can add.

Thanks.

Horrible advice. Spoken like a low quality link builder, not an SEO.

Yes. I'm aware of offering a "wide variety of link sources". That goes back to my main question.

I've been doing online marketing for quite some time now. I'm just trying to compare my package with others and see if I'm offering the right price and what not.

You could add social media management!

What most supposed to be "whitehat SEO's do" are mostly:

    - local citations
    - paid directory listings like Yahoo/Dmoz
    - press releases
    - linking from a private network (not so whitehat obvious)
    - link outreach / acquisitions

Due to budgets I stick to citations / press releases and links from my network and sometimes we do a few bookmarks at the top 3-5 sites, and an infographic, just to add some links to the profile as I block back link crawling services at most of my domains so it would look a bit odd if someone ranks with close to zero links.

The larger the budget, the more private the network can be of course as domains ain't cheap.

Very helpful Nico, but do you mind sharing some tips on how you do citations?

Mike F has a video on how to find citations in your neighbourhood using Scrapebox:
        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVnIOOjGuFw

For the rest it's pretty basic, just find directories in your neighbourhood or use nationwide ones like Yelp, MerchantCircle, Superpages, Yellowpages etc etc. or best to use both.

How to do a citation? Just create an account and fill in your details and be consistent in what you fill in. NAP (Name/Address/Phone) need to match accurately.

Sounds good. I do have local citations down, social media management I'd probably charge them a lot more.

I always encourage PPC for most clients though so they can get results immediately.

Since most of these clients are branding their names, I figured ranking on the first page of Google won't do anything for their site since...well... no one knows about their site. For instance, if someones site is called "Xtravant" that will get <10 but will be on the first page. But no one knows about it.

So I guess this is moreso an overall "online marketing" package for them. SEO I would think on-page optimization, and making sure everything is place with GWT, BWT, and GA.

      Thanks again.

Ranking for their brand name won't do much indeed but that should not be the focus of a link building campaign, I never get clients asking me: "Hey can you rank me for my company name". Most already rank naturally for it.

But yes, most SEO companies suggest PPC, a fairly large SEO company with 200 clients in the US outsources their link building clients to me. However I only get about 10 clients on monthly base from them. The other 190 are only in it for PPC and perhaps social media management.

It looks like that's the approach I'll be taking. PPC + Social Media engagement.

Hopefully I'm charging the right #'s. I charged $200 for a competitors analysis report.

Sounds expensive to me, but I know there are plenty to disagree.

            What did it include?

He already paid me. It's a comprehensive powerpoint competitors analysis.

Sites on-page seo, off page seo, the type of links they're getting. Also, joining their e-mail list. Frequency e-mail, type of email sent, are there any incentives in the e-mail, preference e-mail. How do their ad campaigns look. How do the competitors social media looks. Frequency, type of post, what time do they post. Social media include twitter, fb, and IG primarily.

This is based from 6 top competitors. Each section in full detail since these clients know NOTHING about online marketing. So need a full explanation.

Powerpoint will be about 40-50 slides.

Trust me on this, get paid upfront.

I think the price really depends on what your doing, how detailed the info. is & who the buyer is. It's not a one size (price) fits all.

I'm looking into package deals for the whole 9 yards monthly.... one being $300 a month , another deal $500 and the last one being $1,200.

But that could all change depending on what I add or subtract from the service that I'll be providing.

I have never met a good SEO that offers packages.

Those numbers seem a bit low when your main focus will be PPC and social media management.

PPC eats away like crazy and SMM eats time like crazy.

Did you quit your job already?

PPC does not eat away a cent. The client pays for the ads. You charge a fee to manage the campaign.

Back when I was getting spam called like crazy it was always so that they took a percentage of the budget. So if I said $1000/month to spend on PPC they would take 20% or something.

Nah. I love it here that I can't quit. I usually work after hours. I work from 10-6 and then from 11 pm - 2 am I do business and some on weekends as well.

Yeah the competitors analysis though ties in with the initial down payment of $200 to start the ball rolling.

But once I get a lot more clients I'm probably going to have to pull the plug here eventually. But still so much to learn. I want to make sure I learn the e-mail marketing side, and pay per click corporate level and see how I can incorporate that for clients as well.

Luckily my job isn't completely opposite from what I do on the side. It all ties in together.

That's what I wondered indeed, a full time job and clients on the side is not too easy to maintain.

PPC on corporate level will be interesting to learn indeed!
