Here is a list of my focus points as far as SEO goes in 2014:

1. Mobile SEO Strategies
2. Social Media & SEO
3. Personalization & Audience Segmentation
4. Investing in new/updated SEO tools

Especially Mobile is important to me. Number of Mobile users is dramatically increasing so I think our focus should be fixed there...

What are your priorities?
#search engine optimization #2014 #focus #seo #seo marketing
  • I think number 4, investing in and experimenting with new tools and strategies is more of an ongoing focus rather than one specific to this year.

I agree re: social media - It doesn't really look like slowing down any time soon.
  • I still focus on SEO for the desktop version.
  • PBN, SAPE, and PPC.

I will still focus on the desktop

but will be making moves to gain mobile conversions

as its growing at a good pace.

    • In my opinion, content marketing is really important. Only great and relevant content can attract customers and make your authority
  • Try some paid tools to get good results in 2014. just like http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ffic-tips.html

    • Will be spending a lot of time on social this year. Seem to be the way forward but will also be looking at creating a number of sites to up-sell SEO Services.
  • For clients, always focus on their ROI.
  • Social Media For me.

Local SEO is what I'm working on for 2014.

    • Are you taking on clients, or is this for your own business?

  • If you are really serious about driving targeted traffic to your site then you have to keep up to date with the happening whether mobile or desktop SEO, i see them as the same.

If you don't have the capacity to do all at a time you can focus on them one after the other.
  • I'll be focusing on the same things I focused on last year.

    1. Local SEO (3/4 of my income).
    2. Video Marketing / SEO (1/4 of my income).

And I will most likely get started making my own PBN's. I outsource most my work now but I really need to start and manage my own private networks for security reasons.

  • I think Social media and long tail keyword are important. And Conversational search must be there.
  • 1) Implementing / dominating Social Media. This ties in hand in hand with SEO.
    2) Better website design haha.
    3) Understanding of tech issues such as canonicalization, obfuscating links, duplication, embedded CSS, java, etc.
    4) How to reach out more effectively to people when link building
    5) And last but not least learning ALL OF ONLINE MARKETING. Not just SEO.

I'm going to make this the year of cloaking / SAPE and 301's!

...and perhaps some guestbook / blog comment spam to the 301's....

      Yes really! :p

Besides that I'm going to build some authority sites and put my full focus on Whitehat SEO.

And obvious I continue my main GREY hat business.

      So it's gonna be a colorful 2014!
  • Social Media is my first priority in 2014.

    • Yeah, SM is very important for me too, especially Facebook and Pinterest!

  • Social media is fairly important for me too, but not for SEO. Trying to launch branded products later in the year and get traction for those.

I'm trying to learn link building, and using the Process that shall not Be Named.
  • I'm still focussing to new tool for SEO and social media.
  • Google wants everyone to create quality content so other people share it, why are you guys still trying to build links (sarcasm)
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • The main point is to generate targeted traffic and it’s totally depends on the project you are working on. If you are working for a gaming site, then you can generate more targeted traffic from social media on the other hand, if you are working with a software product then you can concentrate on off page activities rather than social media.
  • My focus in 2014
    1. show best performance on keyword researce field
    2. Create a big agence.
    3. Investing in new / update SEO tools
  • What about high quality blog post and consistency .By the way all the strategies prompt keep it up
  • SEO for foreign markets. Huge opportunities, very little competition.
    • [2] replies
    • I agree. It is a great opportunity indeed!

    • I agree. Pair this with the right CPA offer, and you can really turn a foreign site into an ATM machine. What foreign markets have you tried out and had success with?
  • I dont' use social media for social signals and all that ranking crap.

I want to use it hoping that those that DO like my FB page or instagram have another way of accessing my site..and perhaps those that do have facebook or instagram also have a blog/site that can link back to my site. So it's all relationship basis on MY end that is. I don't know how the hell you guys would utilize your social media strategies but that's what I'll be doing for one of my sites.

    • Doing the same thing as GGpaul, although I've not been successful. I guess I need more cat pics.

If you're doing social media "outreach" you might see increase in SERPs because you're getting your link out there. There's often correlation and even an indirect causal relationship, but there's simply no need for this "social signals" story. There's a much simpler explanation.
  • Social Media & SEO
  • 1. Continue To Build My PBN
    2. Client SEO
    3. Affiliate SEO
    4. Authority SEO
  • Last year up until now I still focus on social media because it offers a variety of audience that will help my site to get prospect clients. Besides, it is free and convenient.

    • If I'd know better, I would be more concerned about the type and quality of content I am producing for my audience. Local SEO does has its benefits only if you are targeting regional visitors. Then comes the social media and all, which is also in my to-do book.
  • I'm not taking my eyes off on Branding...

    • PBNs and building my brands into an empire
  • Definitely mobile and social media for me. Mobile because of how fast it's growing. Social media because it's fast-paced, but not extremely difficult to keep up with since so many tools are available to automate a lot of tasks.
    • [1] reply
  • I am going to build multiple niche targeted authority sites for the rest of this year and then use them as a PBN to hit a big niche next. I also constantly testing multi level link building services along with a few other secrets. I have seen a lot of people mention social signals as a SEO source. Please remember to treat it as you would link building..... Natural with unique content is the way forward. Blasting signals with social sharing sites "could" have a negative effect.
  • Blackhat. Stop listening to that rehashed garbage from cutts and you'll be good
  • How did you start on mobile SEO?

  • Local is steadily gaining importance, although "personalization" or "customizing according to user" is still ahead.

Some of the seemingly spammy strategies are still working good for audiences of other countries. I am not sure if it is a good or bad thing, but the positive and negative aspects almost often affect the audience of USA first, with the rest following in an unpredictable manner.
