Change of urls, what an SEO should do?

One of my website with good ranking is changing the urls of inner pages.
What SEO work should i do for not giving up my rankings?
How to deal with those back links from various sources to my changing inner pages?

Simple list of 301 redirects, throw them into your .htaccess file and voila, give it some time and the old pages listed in Google will be populated with the new page info, they will redirect instantly.

you could also use php for that, but still, 301s is the way to go

the 301's will work right away but if you had a lot of backlinks it might take weeks for the "link juice" to fully change over.

Use 301 redirect from old pages to new pages. If you are changing whole domain then you can specify it in Google webmaster as there is option of change of address.
If you are changing sub-directories, I would recommend you to verify sub-directory in Google webmaster individually and then use change of address option. It is absolutely fine to have sub directories and sub domains verified in same account.

Use 301 redirection and you will not face ranking lost + lost backlinks.

yes, there is only one solution which is 301 redirection. You have to redirect previous links to new links by uploading .htaccess file in public root folder of your website.
