Ranking Internal pages Not on the Navigation Bar?

Do internal pages need to be somehow connected to the navigation bar of a site to rank?

For example site.com/city/raleigh

Would either the parent page (city) or the sub page (raleigh) have to be on the navigation bar of a site for the internal page to rank?

    Hey,

    Since external links go directly to the page, the pages do not have to be added to the website navigation bar. With that said, having the pages connected and structured would help Google index your pages. When Google indexes your website it crawls page-to-page which are connected through internal links within your website.

    Having Google index your website in an structured matter will help update the FRESH content if added.

    Links from external websites will link directly to your page and this will help them get ranked depending on the authority of the linking website and other factors. Please make sure that your individual pages are correctly setup meaning title tag, description, keywords and your content have the keywords present so that Google knows what words your content is focused around.
