PLENTY back-links from one domain...

I am using MyArticleNetwork to get plenty of articles and hence backlinks onto a large network of site/blog owners sites....

something crossed my mind today....my niche is very specific, and so is the 'category' for which I post my articles to in order for other site/blog owners to accept and publish them on their site. This surely means that every time I write and submit an article, the same site owners will be accepting and publishing my articles due to the nature of my article ie. very niche!

My worry is that due to this I will have lots of articles on a handful of blogs/sites...so my content will be bunched on a few sites rather than spread out on many sites.

Does google penalise back links if there are many coming from one domain?

ie. if one blog owners likes my niche content and accepts like 100 articles of mine...I now have 300 backlinks (3 links per article) all coming from his site. Will google still give credit for all 300 links??

    It doesnt appear so ...

Take a look at some of the top 20 sites in really competitive keywords.

For example - Make Money online #11

First 1,000 links and likely a great deal more in Yahoo site explorer - all from the same domain.

If you wrote 1,000 articles and put them on EZA with 1 backlink on each - would that be content you should be penalized for?

thanks you make a good point.

out of interest aside from yahoo site explorer, what is a good way of getting a comprehensive link count?

  • May be you don´t get penalized but what is better: 100 links from one domain or 100 links from 100 domains? Do many links on one domain, but on different pages, count as much as many links on many domains?

If you keep in mind that link popularity is based on the same concept that book libraries tale on (specifically factual text books) then I would most certainly say 100 links from 100 domains would win hands down rather than 100 links from one domain. The reason is this...

If you read a science text book and it referenced another text book on every second page (basically through-out the book),does that really say much about the book being referenced? Not really...the author may have just liked that book so he references it all over the place. However, 100 books written by different authors but all those authors referencing one particular book, now that says something...that it's popular and well known.

I think the fact that different 'entities' are referencing one particular entity makes a huge different...instead of a entity referencing another entity over and over again.

Maybe googe is able to detect the nature of ezine articles and see's this as an exception.

Something else to consider is the anchor text. Having 5,000 links from one domain all with the same anchor text, in my opinion, won't be as valuable as if the links had varied anchor text.

Variety, Google says, is the spice of links
