SEO link bait

I found something funny today while researching competition link profiles.

I was checking a comp. link profile in SEOspyglass, sorted/filtered down to the best pages. One of the backlink pages was a PR5 with about 20 OBLs. I went to check out the page, before I could scroll half way down the backlink page the page did a meta redirect to a guy selling SEO.

The guy obviously set that PR5 up to generate sales for people researching comp. backlinks.

Yukon what is Seospyglass?

Is it safe to use? I did a search and two different website url's pop up the first one is Seo-spyglass and the other is just Seospyglass.com

  The link-assistant.com domain is the link from inside the software, that's the only link I would trust. The rest of the links in Google SERPs are probably affiliates.

  Spyglass helps you analyze competition backlinks. You can sort/filter down to multiple competitions best backlinks, that's mostly what I use it for. You can also import backlinks/URLs (ex: ahrefs, etc...).
