You wasn't getting a followed link from Youtube anyways & probably the same useless link from Pinterest.

Web 2.0 can't be generalized considering no two sites are the same, either the backlink is followed or it's not followed, either the backlink has authority or it doesn't. Look at the HTML source code, there's your proof. Look at the page authority for the backlink.

Unbelievable people would start threads like that on a Google forum calling out their own links to people that can make their site disappear from the SERPs. Completely oblivious.

It depends on the Web 2.0 itself, some are still very strong but most are junk.
Spamming Web 2.0s with junk and then linking from them is dead yes, but I don't think it was ever really alive anyway.

Which type links are very strong and which types are junk? And what is Web2.0 spamming?

I think Web 2.0 are dead now. After searching in the internet, I have found that Google ignores Web 2.0 links so they have no impact on site ranking and sometime they have bad impact on site ranking. I would like to suggest you to do some Guest Posting, which are really so important for bringing more visitors and improving websites ranking. Hope this helps.

It highly depends on the content that is on the page which you are getting links from.

for example a tumblr link with a 1000 word article about your website/niche is a lot better than just a link directing to your website which will be seen as spam.

Don't be sucked into what people write too much and spend most of your time building links, hard work always pays off!

Hi rasheduzzaman, Thanks for your advice, but As i'm a new blogger and my blog page rank and Alexa rank is not good, so most of the blog owners reject my guest posting. They are not interested in the new blog.
      So what can i do?

When creating a new web 2.0 property, at the start its going to pass little benefit to your money site once linked. You need to create backlinks to these web 2.0 properties such that they can pass link juice to your money sites.

The benefit of web 2.0 is that they have a high domain authority (DA) and can handle a higher degree of spam coming in. Nonetheless, I would still recommend creating at least another tier or 2 of web 2.0s between your Tier 1 and the spam.

This takes a bit of management and I would never attempt to do this without software (I recommend FCS and GSA), but the results are amazing. In 30-45 days, you can build 100+ web 2.0 properties with PA 50+ that will supply a ton of relevant link juice to your main site. These properties are safe since you've added a couple layers of buffer between the spam and your main site.

Juiced up Web 2.0s are great for:
        1) Creating pillow links to your money site (Brand, URL, misc, etc)
        2) Ranking monetizable Hubpages, Squidoo, etc which also point to your money site
        3) Ranking themselves: Total page 1 domination.

    Hi,

if you read this post it will help you understand what is happening to your links. The post mentions -

most of the "Web 2.0" links are nofollowed anyway, which is why Google is ignoring them, because they are being instructed to do so

    here's the link

I hate that old marketing term "web 2.0", because it just means "content contributed by user". That's about every interesting web service of today.

Not only are most links nofollow, but setting up your own wordpress.com blog doesn't carry much link juice - if any. If you're really lucky wordpress.com might link one of your blog posts for a short while, but that doesn't count from Google's perspective. Their site doesn't give authority to your sub site, and you have to build backlinks yourself. This is true for many social media services from SEO point of view.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

The Web 2.0 Links consider as a very old SEO technique.

There are few problems with web2. 0 like, Information overload. Too much information is posted daily by many people and it creates confusion for the readers. Also the content quality is not reliable.

Well, their link juice is very minimal nowadays.

The only time you can see decent results from pure Web2.0 links and nothing else would be in niches with very poor competition levels.

Links do work but you need to do it in a certain way.

We have experimented with tons of variables.

What works now is links from private blog network, but there is one condition to be met. Private network blogs must be hidden from all third party crawlers. This is important since Google disavowel is making everyone report all links discovered to Google.

We are actively hiding our network and we are seeing incredible results.

Using Web 2.0s to rank is most defiantly not dead. I go through briefly on how to use Web 2.0s in the current algorithm here.

Utilising them for pillow links is by far the best way. Spam with GSA and within a week they will rank and appear in Ahrefs for you.

How to create pillow links in Google.
