Spammy PBN site

I bought some expired domains with spammy back link profiles and linked them to money site... but only for a couple of weeks or so... Do you think I could have done permanent damage

  Not permanent damage, the beauty of a PBN is you have the ability to remove the links.

The damage can be fix as long as you do necessary actions like disavowing those bad backlinks came from expired domains.

As long as your site's rankings didn't drop, you haven't done any damage at all, much less permanent damage.
