1st Page on Yahoo...20th Page on Google?

I know they're different but that seems a huge gap. My site is about 4 months old. I rank very well for some other less popular long tail keywords that are basically my targeted keyword but with the words rearranged some. I got the new site boost for a while then sank down to page 28 and have stayed at page 20-30 ever since. Is this the dreaded sandbox? Should I just keep building back links gradually and wait for it to improve or am I wasting my time?

  • Yahoo don't care where you get backlinks from.

    Google do so get some relevant backlinks or authority.
  • You probably have a ton of backlinks. Yahoo will count numerous backlinks from one site while Google will probably count just one.

    • That makes some sense actually. I have a ton of backlinks from blogcatalog.com. I honestly don't know why I have so many from them but that may explain some of the problem.
