Changing Domain to benefits the EMD

Hi, first good day to all hope everyone is well.

My boss and I having a discussion about changing the domain of our client to benefits the EMD.

This is what he wanted, change xyz.com to xyzkeywords.com.

I am pointing to him that we should stick on the shorter url since it is the brand name and we should not add keywords on the brand name because the url will be too long. However he is insisting that keyword rich domain has a big impact in search rankings.

But knowing the facts that keyword rich domain has no advantage on google, I am fighting to win this from my boss.

So what do you think guys, does keyword rich url can be considered as a ranking factor in Google?

Thank you so much!

Completely agree. Of course, that statement is probably true for most bosses out there.
