Wrong.. in his case, since the original site was Japanese, Google will rendition him to Japan, not Lybia. Since they've acquired more renditioning locations, they now send you to the original site's location, Japan in this case. This is all done algorithmically now. So be prepared for the Googlebots to be knocking on your door soon.

People do it all the time. And it does work. You must also look into the back link profile of the domain. Basically make sure there is not a bunch of spam links pointing to the domain. Also its real easy to check if the domain has been de-indexed or penalized before purchase.

People do it all the time. Buying an old site with high PR and placing valuable content later does work well, considered you have done a few steps earlier.

1. Just as the above user suggested, check for backlinks - use Ahrefs or our backlink checker service which analyses every backlink ever created for any particular website.

2. Check the recent cached date of the site. Checked cached versions with G and other search engines. Check for traces of porn or di=======>k growing internal pages. You may not be able to check them all. Use WayBackMachine if needed.

3. Clean all the contents with fresh installation and put a placeholder stating that the blog is coming with new look and feel and value and give the users that when you launch.

4. Submit to webmaster tools and get the site indexed.

So it seems that the website was de indexed for other reasons.

So it will be fine for Google that the
domain after the expiration shows a different language and different content?

So should i buy that JAPANESE domain with good backlinks
for create an ENGLISH Blog?

And the final question is: why people pay 10$ for a new domain with pr 0 and do link building if is sufficient buy an expired PR3 domain for 20/30 $ ?

If it was de-indexed simply because it was expired, then you're safe. But make sure it wasn't de-indexed because it was penalized.

Yes. I do this all the time.

Just make sure to through the backlinks into Google translator and make sure theres no SEO links like viagra, payday loans, cash for gold, etc.

Check the anchor text profile to make sure there's a good mix of Brand and URL anchors. Basically you want to make sure that no software was ever run on this site and no SEO touched it.

Also, check the referring domains. Make sure none of them are de-indexed themselves.

If the domain was de-indexed, it may come back and it may not.

It should be fine even if you changed the language.

Given it is de-indexed, you are taking a risk. Otherwise I would think it is worth a try.

An expired domain provides a shortcut to being ranked. However, the actual domain name may not be what you want e.g. as12455_xy.info. Also you don't know whether there were any previous penalties.

An expired domain is not a problem for your business.
Its working like a brand new.Not good -not bad for google.
I have built many websites at expired domains and i have never had problems with google.
Check firstly if the domain was clear and not penalised.

I will not convert all the Japanese content to English content,

i will delete all the content of the old website and create a totally different blog with many articles written in English hoping that they will be ranked in first positions due to domain with an high seomoz authority.

I have already done an experiment with a great domain and the articles was ranked in the first positions for a month, someone has confirmed that this is a good technique.

Please warriors share all your experience in expired domains.

I have a PBN with almost all domains that were originally English language sites, so I can't tell you anything conclusive. What I can say, though, is that a few of those sites were .ca (Canadian), and were originally in all French. I didn't use any of the original content, and put new, all English content on them. They were each originally PR3, remained PR3 after updates, and I believe they positively contributed to my network. (not that PR should change based on language change, but I'm just tossing that in there for what it's worth). I personally don't think a language change matters, but that's just from my limited experience - I don't have any large-scale testing to back that up.

You should check first, is the domain spammed by Google. Check previous backlinks for website. Also please read this article from Matt Cutts. This will definitely help you.

I would love to know your source of where you are buying foreign language domains for those prices. So cost of buying expired domains also prevents some people from purchasing them.

this is the same thing that happened to me.
Google has indexed about 20.000 pages.
My domain was very good (DA 40) and all the backlinks was natural.
After 1 month having all the pages indexed Google has slowly indexed my website.
After 1 week 18.000 pages indexed, after 2 weeks 15.000 pages indexed and now 0 pages indexed.

This is the first time that happens to me, sometimes i have bought the wrong domain (many spammy backlinks) and Google banned the website instantly.

Anyone had the website slowly de indexed without any apparent reason?

I notice two things we did that we have in common:
1) We both had fairly large sites that are over 1000 pages.
2) We both uploaded all of our articles at once to the new domain.

I wonder if this has anything to do why our sites are performing poorly?

I'm not a great fan of turning an irrelevant expired high PR domain into a full fledged money site, especially not when it used to be in a language with a complete different alphabet so to say.

Results are often also a bit hit or miss.

One of the main reasons why I do like it is cause it often has plenty of anchor diversity so you can go more aggressive with your anchors, in fact one of the very few reasons why really.

My other experiences weren't that great really.

person would first ask about the nature of the content instead of just foolishly assuming

a high PR does not say anything about domain authority or high quality, you need to check domain metrics with MOZ, Ahrefs, Majestcseo.

What makes a quality expired domain you want to use for a PBN, redirect to your money site or set-up a site on:

1)Look-up on whois*domaintools*com that the domain does not have more than three registrars and maximal one drop
2)Check on archive*org if any nasty SPAM images appear or redirects
3)Check on screenshot*com for the same
4)Check metrics on Moz*com / opensiteexplorer*org for PA 30+ and DA 15+
5)Check on ahrefs*com anchor SPAM and backlinks
6)Check on majesticseo*com for for BL 25+ and DL 15+

I have done all of these points, why do you say that the value of DA is 15+?
I prefer an higher value because after the expiration the domain usually lose some of their backlinks.

If the expired domain is an old one, the link juice is mostly constant as the links stay there for years and will continue so...

From my opinion it was a bed idea because there is no safer side. If you have a good quality content than it will automatically get good PR and domain Authority. Yes for traffic generation you have to do some Social Media work.

Actually the competitors put thousands of dollars in the pot for build private networks with expired domains.

I agree with the diversity of anchor texts, you can do linkbuilding with the exact anchor text that you would like to rank and some and you don't have to diversify because the domain has already different anchor texts.

Yes you can do it, but the hard part is finding domain with high PR and then buying it. It will not come cheap if it's a clean domain. Make sure to check its history. I do not remember now but there is site (called archive(dot) something) where you can check how website's looked few years ago.

I think it's a great tool to do some background checks.

I just bought an expired PR5 domain couple of months ago. It's well indexed in Google and I don't have any problems with it. The difference is that all of my backlinks are coming from English sites.
