    On-Site SEO
First of all, you'll have to find some more profitable keywords for your ecommerce products and then you'll have optimized each product with meta titles and meta description.

    Off-Page SEO
You'll have to implement future proof strategy for your Off page SEO efforts. You need to build quality and relevant baclinks to get higher search engine ranking for your each products.

Thanks for your response. Let me share some details as I think my original query was too broad.
I have been doing seo for an e-commerce website. We are already done with onsite seo. I have also read a good few books on the subject. So far we have had chosen about 10 keywords for the home page which we were working on. I have, however, figured out that I should also focus on sub pages and not just the home page. In this regard, I have mined the competitors backlink for a particular term which is a term that I want to focus on for a secondary page. Now I am confused on how to continue SEO for both the home page and this secondary page whereby I have 10 keywords for home page (3 primary keywords, 3 secondary long tail/LSI keywords, 2 brand keywords, 2 generic keywords) and I may have to have the same kind of 10 keywords for the secondary page as well. As it may be evident I am having trouble managing more than one pages along with their keywords and corresponding backlinking. Thanks in advance

Interlink the multiple pages of your site to each other and the homepage, using your targeted keywords as anchor text. Then, build dofollow backlinks to the multiple pages of your site. The backlinks are better if they're on high PR pages, contextual, and relevant. When you build backlinks to the multiple pages of your site, you should use your targeted keywords, variations of those keywords, and synonyms of those keywords as anchor text.

Thanks Julia. Any suggestions on what should be the anchor text ratio for primary, secondary, generic and brand name keywords?

Thanks. So when you say 5% exact keyword and long tail. Do you mean to say, for instance 5 keywords sharing that 5% quota? Or 10? or 1?

PS: I did read the article you shared but it does not talk about primary keywords; only generic and branded keywords, if I understood correctly.
