Hey Warriors,
We were hit by the manual penalty previously, so we came down to the process of link removal we have removed more than 6K backlinks and worked over day and night to clean us up. But after a month what we have received is still unnatural links are pointing to our sites. I don't know what the problem is but this time on the sample links they have notified forums, yes they have notified about the forums some of the good forums and the problem Google sees is in the forum profile in which we have just mentioned our homepage URL. What I mean to say here is we have check the forum its Alexa DA,PA,Page Ranks everything is just more than perfect even I have look made account only only those forum which is related to our niche but still Google is having problem with the profile created over the forum. Now my major concern here is how can I know which forum is harmful or Good? I mean I was thinking this whole time that forum participation is good, for getting good backlink from the signature panel but now it looks forum participation is also bad. If not then how to check which forum is good and which forum is bad ?

Are you talking about the site in your sig? I'm not very surprised... 24K backlinks and Majestic SEO is reporting stats you could easily get with less than 1/10 of those links and not much effort put into the link building.

I'm just going by what Majestic says (because I'm kinda busy and a bit lazy), but I'd first try to weed out sites that have their main focus in something else than software development / programming (or whatever is your focus). Get rid of "SEO directories", web design directories, bad article sites, and stuff like that - low quality by definition.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Well, according to our Google webmaster tool it is showing 7,551 backlink i think your Majestic SEO tools is giving you outdated and incorrect information. We have already put our efforts on taking down the links from the article directories, web-design directories, low quality stuff like that.... anyway thanks for your input.

That's very likely. I'm not sure when Majestic has had their last update, but it might be couple of weeks old. However, they're showing a sharp increase in lost links - their spider has already gotten a glimpse of your cleanup efforts.

I've been a bit paranoid about sig links myself, and removed most of them from the few sites I use. You can never be sure about the context of the page your link is on.

This is exactly your problem and likely why you should hire a third party link removal service as it seems you are way to close to the situation to have a good understanding of how it works.

Just because the "SEO metrics" are good doesn't mean the link is good, that's not how it works and if thats the story you have been telling Google it's no wonder they haven't revoked your penalty.

The point is you got caught cheating and built links that are against Google's T.O.S.

Newsflash: Links that are outside of Google's terms aren't links that have bad "seo metrics". It's probably all of the links you built to your site.

It's time to let someone that knows what they are do the job. No offense.

well, thanks for your input @DizenSounds but I am really not convinced of hiring some SEO specialist I am sure with the proper guidance from some of the reputed members here in the forum I will get out with it this trouble to and as far as the traffic is concerned I don't care too much about it because we are getting okay okay traffic from the search engine as well as the referral. So, this just leaves me in starting with the link removal process again from the scratch.

I am under the impression that any nofollow links that you might have are safe as far as search is concerned.

Doesn't look good on your side. Have you tried hiring someone to get rid of these links?

No, I don't prefer hiring someone to get rid of those links I prefer it doing own my own.

Forums that are related to the niche should be preferred. But don't forget that in most cases you should write the signature to look as natural as possible. Also, don't forget that in the most cases the backlinks would be nofollow!
