Hi All,

I'm sure many of you have come across the issue of duplicate content with regards to ecommerce product descriptions. Although I would love to rewrite all the descriptions to keep the content unique, I am very busy with other operations of the business. I do have alot of unique content on the blog and category pages etc, but I am having trouble keeping the product pages unique. What I was thinking is writing up some unique content which explains the product/our company in a few paragraphs, and then inserting this in addition to the product descriptions. My concern is if I were to insert this paragraph into all the products for that category, would google flag this as duplicate content if though it is unique content on my web, but then duplicate across different pages on my website? I hope I didn't confuse anyone. Any advice would be appreciated

That's not duplicate content in the bad sense of the word.

Sure, it's duplicate. People just misquote google on the subject.

Every ecommerce site has the same thing, over and over, even
as it appears across other ecommerce sites.

Amazon is full of duplicate content.
