PPC and Trademarks

I'm thinking about starting up an affiliate site for a product. My question: can I use PPC ads to generate site traffic for a trademarked product? More specifically, can my ads directly promote the trademarked product? This is probably a pretty basic/stupid question for some but it's been nagging at me. Any help is appreciated.

Trademark rules varies by PPC Network, so it depends which one you are referring to (adwords, fb ads, bing ads etc.)
