Whois & Hosting Querry Post-Penguin

I owned 7 domains and they were all penalized by penguin. They were hosted on the same hosting account with each domain having open whois records(identical ownership details). I have decided to comeback by building fresh new websites rather than trying to resurrect them. I will have new original content and avoid crap backlinks. Now here goes my question:

#1 --> If I build a new site and host it on this same hosting account and have open domain whois, then will I be facing an automatic penalty because of my previous history?

#2 --> How many of you actually have the experience of having SEO success with a new site with same open whois and same hosting.

I am looking forward for your kind replies.
Thanks

Are you sure they were all penalized en masse? Did you use the same link building tactics on every single one of these domains?

I register every domain private no matter what I plan to use it for and never host more than 2 sites on the same IP.

If you register every domain private, that means you have a really good and cheap hosting provider.

Would you share it with us?

I register all my domains private, but registration has nothing whatsoever to do with hosting or price.

Private is free if you know where to register.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

At Namecheap you can hand register for around 10 bucks with free private whois. It's a favorite of many webmasters.

Almost all of them had similar types of links except one.
By making private whois, do you have any trouble in ranking ?

So you think you were penalized by google and they keep track
of whois, then penalize perpectually on that whois info.

Here's a thought. Instead of trying to hide from google, why not
just strive to not piss them off? It's very cathartic.

No successful webmaster in the world ever worries about hiding
from google. It's a nonsense concept to begin with, and what
are you doing that you are hiding from google?

I have never even fathomed why people think google wants, is,
or needs to even look at whois info.

Instead of sweeping trash under a rug, why not just dump the
        trash?

And as far as hosting, I have yet to have one real person give me
proof that a name brand hosting company has ever had any
hosting penalized. Russia, China, Turkey, Pakistan, India, etc.
not withstanding. Anyone who chooses to host from a crap
        host deserves what they get.

No, many sites use private WHOIS and rank just fine. However, I doubt the name on the WHOIS information is your problem. I think you'd have to really piss off Google to get them to take an action like that.

I have heard other people claim all there sites on the same IP have been penalized, I've never experienced this myself but I have always been somewhat conservative in my practices.

My guess is your problem probably lies elsewhere. The Penguin filter can be triggered by spammy link building practices and it doesn't run in real time.

If you think you were slapped by an algorithm the best thing to do is line up your analytics data, with data on known or suspected major algo changes.

What I really want to know at this point is have any of you had the experience of having success with a new site hosted on a previous hosting where your site was penguin-penalized(oh and with same open whois)?
