Just bought $companyname.com - two SEO questions

Hello all,

I have been running my company at $companyname.ch for some time now. Recently I have been able to acquire $companyname.com as well.

Two questions:
  • Is there anything I can do to "reset" the PR and everything for $companyname.com? As far as I can tell there have been different landing pages trying to sell that domain displayed there for the last couple of years. I have already transferred the domain to my nameservers and changed the WHOIS (it's now anonymized with Whoisguard). Is there anything else I can do to tell Google that ownership has changed?
  • This .com-Domain won't be used directly, instead it will redirect to my .ch-domain. I am only serving my local market (hence the .ch-domain), but I would like to use the .com to generally boost my SEO for the "$companyname" search query, if that's possible. Is there any way I can use the .com-domain to support SEO for my .ch-domain, specifically for the "$companyname" search query? Currently I am doing a 301 header redirect from .com to .ch.

PS: Not sure if it matters, but $companyname is a fantasy word, it does not contain any dictionary words.
