Backlink Juice?? How would this work??

If I create 25+ sites as a subdomain (ex. xyzsite1.mainsite.com, xyzsite2.mainsite.com...) and spend a good amount of effort building high PR backlinks that are industry specific to the main site will it be a major help to all of the subdomains? Or would it be best to point the links to the subdomains?
Each subdomain would be a separate site for different customers.

Here is a example:
When you google "Paint" or "painting" in Google with Denville, NJ set as your search location www.denville.colormemine.com/ comes up in the top 2-3 positions, not painters. The keyword density is not very high for Paint. Is it coming up so well because the main site Welcome to Color Me Mine the paint your own pottery studio. as a lot of juice coming off it's backlinks and therefore has a high Page Authority?

If you have other examples, you may be able to analyze them yourself.

There are different factors with ranking in Google, and there is some sort of "blocking mechanism" which stops the 100% reverse-engineering of all of the factors involved. At times, one such factor is evident in a particular niche or topic, where this same factor seems to not affect another niche.

Yes. That will be a good help for your subdomains. Please remember, there shouldn't be any problem if one of your subdomain is affected. If the main domain is affected by manual penalty or something like that, then you subdomains can also be affected.

I would build them to the sub domains same like TopTenReviews are doing.

Subdomains do not get any link juice carried over from the root domain. As soon as you build out a new subdomain, it starts as a new site with a fresh backlink profile. That's why even if you create a new blog in a PR9 site like Wordpress (ex. yournewblog.wordpress.com), your PR will either be N/A or 0.

The reason why that site is coming up high is this:

    1. Keywords you showed for are mentioned in his content.

    2. His META title has related keywords.

    3. His anchor text is geared towards the Denville area for results.

    4. You are searching from Denville and his site is dedicated to Denville plus reasons 1 and 2 which is why he is coming up high.

    5. He doesn't have decent competitors.

If you want link juice to flow better through the site, go for inner pages (site.com/innerpage) rather than subdomains UNLESS the subdomains will totally be in different topics (like health.site.com to games.site.com).

This always makes me chuckle. No offense, but if you did not know that the
TRUE meta title went out with the blink tag in 1996....then what does that say
      about your "expertise"? Volumes.

    Thanks for the comments!
I have had very good results pointing links directly to specific pages within a site. If I point the links to the root domain does the link juice become less effective to the sub pages? I think so.
If I made a site that had only 5 sub pages will the link juice be more effective from the root domain as to compared to a site that has 100+ sub pages?

No it won't really help you.

You will need to build links directly to each website and these links should be directly related to the pages it is linking to.

Subdomains will be regarded as completely different websites to the search engines.

Just be sure to FOLLOW all rules otherwise you can get ALL of them deindexed by Google... For example pay attention to your main page and don't overdo backlinking to it. Also, don't forget to go SLOWLY!!!

      Please explain "Follow" the rules.
How many backlinks do you think would be good to start?
I just created backlinks to about 5 online forums and made a quick post on each that contained my signature with a link backlink to my site. Is that too many or ok?
I also created 2 anchor tag links within 2 of the posts to subpages within the site.
How many backlinks should I target in month 1, 2,3... going forward so I will not get penalized?
      Thanks,
      Tim

No one knows how many links should be created, but if your website is fresh, do not go with 100 or so..

I create about 5- 10 backlinks that are niche related and can get the sites in position 9 pr higher. many of the pages are now in the top 5 positions. The sites are positioned for long tail keywords that are geo specific. example "dentist in chatham"
