Hello,

I have 5 keywords of my website. When I am trying to check all keywords in Google SERPs, Google shows me correct META descriptions for 4 keywords except 1. I don't know why Google doesn't show correct META description for that particular 1 keyword, I mean Google shows some page content as a META description. Can you please tell me why this happening.

Thanks

Google will show whatever meta description it feels is appropriate. It might use yours. It might create a new one from the page content. Nothing you can do about it.

As previous commenter said Google may change meta descriptions in SERPs. It's not usually a big deal, because Google is pretty good at extracting a piece of text that matches the search query. Some people even recommend that you leave meta descriptions empty because they feel that Google would be doing better job than your average webmaster.

Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Google seems to change its descriptions based on its mood. I've seen it choose different descriptions to show in consecutive refreshes on the same search.
