Hi guys, I'm a newbie in internet marketing and I'm trying to build my first niche website. I found the physical product to promote, but I'm not sure if I should build website around that product because the first website that appears in google is amazon when I search for product name. Should I try to build a website and compete against amazon or better found another product?

  • Don't promote a product - waste of time unless it's always an IN-DEMAND item and there is no official site for it.

Focus on categories - e.g. food processor reviews.

Then build posts for each food processor review that you do. Problem with promoting products, is:

    a) competing against manufacturer
    b) competing against amazon (big retailers etc)
    c) limited earnings

Now ofcourse, this doesn't necessarily apply to promoting clickbank etc.. But for Amazon I'd suggest going with category rankings.

    • You hit the nail right on the head my friend, I recommend the exact same thing. Outranking amazon for an individual product is ridiculously hard, however ranking for categories is much much easier and can be just as profitable. Specially for keywords like best food processors etc etc
