To generate business leads first you have to achieve the top 10 ranking in google search engine, then after promote your business/services in social networking sites like ( Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). Join business groups, local groups in social networking and promote your services there. Because social networking is the best place to promote and from where you generate leads also.

You can promote your website on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Digg, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Reddit but first of all get top 10 ranking in Google after then do it.

if you are more concerned about business leads then i would suggest you to go with PPC. Ask you client to start with PPC, it will give you better leads. SEO is long term process, you will have to keep patience for that.
