Is SEO Dead?

I used to get like 90% of my traffic from google web search & google image search, Now its mainly facebook and the odd bing result.

Is this a google update? I am getting confused.

Are you sure your website is still in google? Any result by using the query:

    site:yourdomain.com

    Please change yourdomain.com

Also, did you change something to the website recently (changing the design, add new pages or anything else)?

Yes, because your one specific website has lost traffic from Google, SEO is dead.

Not dead, more like getting harder to get through. You just have to do SEO that lasts. A lot of SEO these days have very short term results and are easily penalized. It can get you to the top quickly but as soon as an update comes, it just kills your site completely.

Do something that will provide safe links but still powerful. Maybe PR site links?

What makes you say that? Just because animal names are easy to write on a forum?

There's nowhere near enough info in this thread to say anything about the situation.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?

No SEO is not dead you can say SEO has evolved, like you said previously you are getting major traffic from Google previously but now ... what it simply means that your site is out of the guidelines that Search engines follow and I don't think that there is any SEO in this whole world that can rank you over the search engine without following the guidelines.

Yep SEO is dead because you stopped getting traffic from google.

Its not dead for me though because i am getting traffic fine.

Can you be a little more descriptive in why you lost traffic from google, did you lose rankings ? Got penalized ?

SEO is not dead, it is more alive than ever and responds harshly to spam link building methods. Check out for manual penalty notice in your google webmaster tools to ensure that you are not penalized manually by google.
