Hi, I'm helping a local business owner by set up a Google Webmaster Tool and add a new site that I made for her. I verified the site and the sitemap status is OK. It is almost a week. Up to now, the site is not being index. It said that I've to verify the non-www version. I'm confused here. How to verify the non-www version since I've already verified the www version?

I have a Google Webmaster Tool account as well and have added more than 10 sites with no problem. I've never asked to verify both www and non-www versions. So, any ideas with my client's site?

Thanks in advance!

Is either version being indexed now?
Why not do a redirect from the non-www to the www?

Now, I added the non-www to Google Webmaster Tool, the non-www version is now being indexed. But www version is still not indexed. Is it really a matter as long as one version is being indexed?

I always recommend only using one version, and directing one to the other. Otherwise you can get some duplicate content as well as diluted pagerank.

    Is it a local business?

Seems like you already signed up for Google Webmasters Tools... You should add the business, with the URL data to Google Maps/Local.

Easiest way to get indexed is social bookmarking it...

Don't wait for Google to get around to it. Bookmark with with social bookmarking and it will be indexed within a couple of days. I use Onlywire, some use SocialMarker.com

You can also find the top forum in your client's niche using "niche name" + forum on google. Register and make a posting with the www version of the site in your forum signature. Make a few quality posts and she should be indexed in a couple of days.

I agree with the social bookmarking crowd. For me this has hands down been the fastest way of getting indexed.

    As dvdual said above,

I suggest you to use only one of them. Don't use both WWW and non-WWW. Google sees it as different sites (via WWW or no-WWW?). So make sure you choose one of them and stick to it.

It takes sometime to get indexed. Social bookmarking is one way to get indexed quicker. Also try to get some backlinks from high PR sites if possible.
