Parasite Websites? Do They Work And How?

I saw this over at Black Hat World: hxxp://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/683202-method-building-parasite-pages-sudo-style.html

Would this work? If so what's the point in having a website because it seems like you can make a video on youtube and rank it really high without much effort?

Or is this a bad idea?

    This only works so long as the website as a whole has a good enough link profile to survive the spamming. I don't think this works for blogger blogs or wordpress.com blogs. Those use subdomains which are treated as separate domains by Google. Youtube though is a safe bet as I doubt Google will penalize their own site no matter how much it gets spammed.
