Hi Guys

Hope you can give more tips here.

I have this weird encounter in google local. When I go to google.com.au and type "used car ferntree gully" my friend website is on the top list in local listing. But my friend in Australia he can't see the listing. Really Strange...

We tested both. I am in Philippines and I am using google.com.au and he's in Australia he's using also google.com.au but when we both type the keyword. I have the results which I see he's site is on the list. But in hes side he did not see the list. Why is that?

It's all about the cookie (Your browsing history). You must have entered your friend's website for many times but you don't clean your browser's history every time. So Google think you like this website, so it appears on the top list.

Google is probably still giving you localized results. They're using your IP address, not necessarily the site you use to search.

    There's couple of options:
    - Get a proxy or VPN service like Hide My Ass.
    - Use the right parameters in your Google search.

It's also quite likely that one of you is logged in. Delete cookies and use incognito / private window to search.
    Signature
Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?
