So i set my max bids to 0.80 and I get someone click and what does yahoo charge me $5.00 for the 1 click instead of 0.80 which i had set and on another one $1.93 like holy crap. I never gave them permission to charge me above my maximum bid amount

They are extortionists.

Pay per click seems to me to have gone to hell in a basket

I use them and never had a problem and their support is really helpful..

I've never had a problem like that either, and YSM is the second largest (and oldest) pay-per-click search program, so they're unlikely to be extorting anyone purposely.

Double check your settings and contact 'em.

    hey roley,

that never happened to me either. I have some clients that I advertise them on Yahoo and the ROI is amazing, especially the CPC is lower than on Google. Indeed their User Interface is painful comparing with Adwords but the results could be good!

As the guys above said, definitely contact the Yahoo PPC team.

Well folks you better keep a very close eye on your accounts as I kid you not. My max bid that I did not want to go over was set a 80cents and they charged me more. I got off the phone and let me tell you that theyfell over their words trying to explain it, they even said they can charge 10% more than the max bid

I said that defeats the point of a max bid, I dont want to pay more than I put in there and you folks shouldnt be charging me more, but I kid you not they did. On one I had it set to 1.34 a click, they charged me $1.93

Im very nervous now and will be checking my account even more frequently. They said they are going to run a report and credit me if they have charged over

But that doesnt explain their first comment about how they said we can charge over 10% more than your max bid

Keep an eye on your accounts people im dead serious
