ClickBank affiliate product appearing in #1 spot in Google?

Can someone please help explain this mystery?

I just searched for a particular product I'm interested in promoting via Click Bank as an affiliate.

To my surprise the number 1 organic result in Google was a direct linking Click Bank affiliate (as i can tell via the url). How is this possible?

I thought that direct linking affiliate links can only show up as a paid ad in Google?

A little hint may be that I recognised that the direct link for this #1 result belongs to Brad Callen's PPC Web Spy Software Program.

    he must've be done a lot of SEO/link building - but still dumb NOT to have a landing page. Its like building a 200 story house standing on wine glasses - and hope they wont break.

      But here's the thing:

      It's not possible to do a lot of SEO/link building with a direct linking Click Bank product because all you are given is a unique link.

      You are not given a website to put links or do SEO to.
