The importance of SEO - No 1 on google

Maybe one of the biggest mistakes I have made in the last 4 years was when I set up a site I didn't have any idea of the importance of SEO, and I kept wonderering why I was never got any visitors lol.

I put a blog on the web about 3 weeks ago

Well with a little bit of work (nothing to advanced) I have reached the following positions for the keywords shown

Impressions : Your site appeared in these searches Clickthrough : Users clicked on your site in these searches
# % Query Position
1 44% instantplr.com position 7
2 33% free plr content position 9
3 22% blog with plr position 1

Yea! Now I can say I am number ONE on google

This was my first try at SEO and I am sure with a bit more learning I can achieve this for better keywords.

So for all of you like me that had no idea about SEO go out and learn a little. Search this site for SEO Books, use Google Tools and if you have a blog use the All in One SEO and the Goggle Sitemaps plugins

After all it's free traffic

Can I just add that I achieved this and learnt what I know by buying a WSO on this forum. So if you are hesitating about buying one go ahead and take the plunge. From my own experience every WSO I have purchased has helped me in some way so thanks to all Warriors that offer them.

    I have ensured that my site has been throughly SEO'd up(as they say) with keywords in the tags and content etc, I have recently heard about "advanced SEO", is it possible to do this without outside help, or is it advisable to pay for this service?

    Hi Humphrey,

    I am not an expert on SEO in any way but I would say yes it is possible to do yourself.

    I used a WSO I purchased on here that gives tutorials for beginners, medium and advanced SEO tactics. I'm still on the beginner stage but quite happy so far

    I don't mean to ruin the party or anything anton, but the Google keyword tool doesn't show any searches for the phrase "blog with plr" and hasn't recorded any consistent monthly searches for "free plr content".

    Do you have any more specific keywords you're targeting that would bring in some traffic? Just trying to help out, as I don't want all that hard effort of yours to go to waste!

      No I don't have any more specific keywords with this site, this basically was the 1st time I had tried anything so I still don't understand it all fully. although not expecting a lot from this I just thought ok now i have to go out and target better keywords. The Blog was built originally to sell and that's why I had a go at SEO so hopefully I would get a better price.

      I am busy at the moment putting up a new (membership) site and I will be trying to target more specific keywords for this, as hopefully this will be my main site for quite a while.

      Ok I was asked earlier for the WSO I purchased am I allowed to give the link out I am unsure about this.

        Not sure if you're using it, but an invaluable tool for SEO is the Google Keyword tool at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal - this will tell you how many searches per month a keyword phrase is receiving, so that you can have a good idea as to what sort of traffic you'll be getting once you rank under your desired keyword term.
